DESCRIPTION
Standard protocols for total RNA isolation and miRNA isolation are not optimized for isolation of small RNA molecules and result in the loss of substantial amounts of miRNA and other small RNA. In addition, removal of the predominantly larger RNA is required for accurate analysis of miRNA expression by qPCR or microarray analysis. This kit was specifically designed for purification of small RNA with minimal contamination from large RNA molecules or genomic DNA. In the presence of chaotropic salt, and various ethanol concentrations in the solvent, RNA molecules (of various sizes) are selectively bound by the glass fibre matrix.

GEL DATA
Total RNA from mouse tissue was purified using Tri-RNA Isolation Reagent. 10 µg of each RNA was subjected to miRNA purification. The purified miRNA was resolved in 50 µl of Release Buffer and a 1/10 volume (5 µl) was used to run on a 2% agarose gel.
