This kit provides rapid and highly-specific detection and quantification for the brettanomyces yeast that is commonly found in wineries. High amounts of brettanomyces has the potential to cause wine spoilage due it creating a volatile phenol compound, but in low levels, can actually add complexity to the wine.
Regular PCR testing for brettanomyces means that the winemaker can assess if the amount of brettanomyces is increasing (to potentially become problematic) or is at low levels, adding to the complexity of the wine.
Optimised to run on the Mic qPCR cycler but well suited to other qPCR instruments.
