This test kit was developed to detect and quantify the presence of diastatic yeasts in beer. While it can be useful to have diastatic yeast in beer if you are brewing a sour or dry Saison beer, the presence of this yeast in other beer styles will cause off-flavours and turbidity.
This kit was optimised on the Mic qPCR machine but is well suited to other qPCR machines and unlike other PCR test kits, which provide a positive/negative result, the dnature PCR kit will quantify the result so you know the scale of a positive result (should it occur).
