Candidatus Liberibacter solanacearum is a bacteria that can infect tomatoes, capsicums, carrots, tamarillos (tree tomatoes) and more. The psyllid can take one to two months after inoculation to show disease in the host plant. Symptoms of liberibacter include stunted growth, leaf curl and in the case of potatoes significant reduction in yield.
A PCR test will highlight the issue before plants become symptomatic and provide knowledge to deal with the issue.
