BLOCK is a technology developed by dnature, to delay the amplification of an internal control to a suitably high Cq (low level). This mean that the qPCR targets do not lose sensitivity. It is a key feature in a number of our kits and developed multiplex assays.
Simply reducing the primer concentration for endogenous controls often reduces the fluorescent yield while barely delaying the Cq. For more on the development of the BLOCK technology, please see presentation here.
BLOCK is amplicon-specific and has been developed for a number of internal controls such as:
